God's Word Rejected
In Eden the question was whether God had truly spoken. Man weighed the serpent's word against the Creator's and chose to doubt. Every rejection since begins there — with a heart unwilling to take God at His Word.

The Story
Scripture tells one long account of a God who speaks, reigns, and gives — and of a people who refuse. In the garden, humanity rejected God's Word, believing the creature over the Creator. Generations later, Israel rejected God's reign, demanding a human king so they might look like the nations around them. And when the King Himself came, clothed in flesh and full of grace, humanity rejected God's King and crucified Him.
Three rejections. One unchanging God. At every turn where man withdrew his trust, the Lord did not abandon His purpose — He advanced it. The plan of reconciliation ran straight through Eden's promise, Israel's failure, and Calvary's cross, until the rejected King became the only way home.
The governing takeaway is simple and searching: do not give man the trust, the authority, or the place that belongs to God. Trust His Word, receive His Son, and allow Christ to reign.

God's Reign Rejected
Israel asked for a king like the nations. The Lord answered Samuel plainly: they had not rejected the prophet, but the God who reigned over them. Wanting a visible ruler, they traded away an invisible throne.

God's King Rejected
When God sent His Son, the promised King came to His own and was not received. The cross was the fullest refusal of His reign — and, in the mercy of God, the very place where reconciliation was purchased.
THEY HAVE REJECTED ME
God gives teachers. God gives pastors. God raises leaders.
But He never gives them His throne.
Since humanity first rejected God's Word in Eden, God has continued to speak, guide, correct, and call His people—often through men.
Moses was called by God.
David was called by God.
Peter was called by Christ.
Yet every one of them remained a man. Every one of them needed God. None could become what Jesus Christ is.
A faithful pastor shepherds Christ's flock.
A faithful teacher teaches God's Word.
A faithful servant points people toward Christ.
The question is not whether God uses men.
He does.
The question is whether we give those men the trust, authority, dependence, or place that belongs to God alone.
Jesus taught us to pray:
“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”
— Matthew 6:10
Who reigns in Heaven?
Not man.
God reigns through Jesus Christ.
And if God's will is to be done on earth as it is in Heaven, then every pastor, teacher, leader, church, and believer must remain under the authority of the King.

Rejection is not the last word. What man refused, God provided. Reconciliation is not found in a better ruler, a stronger nation, or a more careful religion — it is found in the Son who was rejected and raised. He is the way back to the Father, and He reigns still.
